I finished the Holmesian novel I started during NaNoWriMo. I hit my 50K mark during the event, but I planned on taking the story out to 100K. Well, I didn’t hit 100K. I hit 84K.

Writing Without Imagination

Imagination is something everyone takes for granted. Imagination, the word, has the root “image”. When someone says, “Imagine a flower,” you’re able to close your eyes and see a picture of a flower. Maybe the flower is a rose, or a tulip. When you’re told “Close your eyes and imagine a beautiful sunset on a beach,” you see a picture of something calming and beautiful. You use something often called your “third-eye”, to imagine.

Writing Gamification

I have taken a week off, and am now working on the second 50K of my novel. It was difficult gettting back into the flow, but I needed the break. During my time off I thought about what motivates me to write and concluded that sprints help which led me to consider an idea I had a long time ago, games.
