2024 In Review and Plans for 2025
2024
As 2024 draws to a screeching close, it’s time to take stock of this year.
— Published “Out of Time”
— Wrote “Trigger Warning”, a short story for the Creatures, Crimes, and Creativity 10th anniversary anthology.
— Wrote the first draft of “Coins of Destiny - Book 2”
— Started planning “Coins of Destiny - Book 3”
— Wrote the first draft of “The Cat and the Warlock”, a pulp novel. Well, it should be done by the end of the year, or within a day or two, so I’m calling it written in 2024.
This has been a notable year, since I was able to not only write two new books, but publish two books in a single year. I never believed I could.
In other writing news, I bought a Boox Go10.3 eInk tablet. I have a SuperNote Nomad, but I wanted a larger form-factor. I was waiting for the SuperNote A5X2, but at the time it didn’t look like it was coming out this year, so I opted for the Boox. The Go10.3 is an excellent tablet, but I’m not a big fan of the UI. Also, it’s an eInk tablet, and not really focused on writing.
Then, SuperNote released the A5X2 Manta in late December. I jumped and bought one, and I’m glad I did. The writing feel is excellent and the UI is focused on writing and much more streamlined than the Boox.
I didn’t buy as many fountain pens this year. That’s a good thing. I have all of the interesting ones (at least to me). So now, I’ll only add ones to my collection, on occasion.
2025
My writing plans for 2025 include:
— Edit and publish “The Cat and the Warlock”
— Edit and publish “Coins of Destiny - Book 2”
— Write first draft of “Coins of Destiny - Book 3”. That will finish the trilogy, at least the writing bit.
— Write and submit a short story to the Creatures, Crimes, and Creativity anthology
— Write at least one more short story.
— Plan the next book.
Summary
This past year has been a good one for my writing. I’ve increased my output and have sold more copies than in previous years.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who has bought one of my books and actually read it. I don’t write for the money. I write because I enjoy doing so, and sharing the stories in my head help tell me that I have stories worth telling.
Thank you.
Word up!
