The Roland Targus Series

NOTE: The series should be read in the following order:
  • The Treasure
  • The Curse
  • The Kingdom
  • The Couple

The Treasure

The Treasure
A hunter-to-be encounters two treasure hunters who seem intent on finding treasure wherever it may be. They stumble upon a clue that leads them to the world’s greatest treasure and a weapon of infinite power.

Hunted by a man bent on dressing well and using the weapon to gain dominion over the world, the companions escape from adventure into adventure. Nothing will bar them from obtaining more treasure, even if it’s in your pocket.

The Curse

The Curse
Stalked by an unstoppable evil a hunter-to-be, two treasure hunters, and a mouse team up to lift an unliftable curse. A clue leads them to a strange village that is eternally happy where many enter but none leave and a stranger who calls himself The Keeper of the Grave.

They find that not every friend is the friend you think they are and to always listen to a dragon. Dragons have treasure, right?
This appears to be the second book (“The Treasure” is the first book) in a humorous fantasy adventure series about an inept archer, his two thieving female companions, and a small talking rodent. I particularly like the town of chanting pseudo-zombies whose religious fervor has caused them to lose the ability to take care of themselves.

The Kingdom

The Kingdom
Oh! There you are. I’ve been waiting for you.

An inept hunter, a sorceress, princess, and a mouse walk into a mysterious kingdom. They must save it from two twins (that’s redundant) and an unstoppable ghost named Eric who have decided progress includes collecting something they call “taxes”.

Along the way they encounter a strange man, get thrown into a well (a deep subject), must rebind the unbound Binding of Unbinding, and discover a use for fire.

They find out that not everything you see should be trusted, and not everyone you meet is who you think they are. People change.
The Kingdom" is an exciting conclusion to an amusing trilogy (1: The Treasure, 2: The Curse). The final struggle is epic. Everything is tied together nicely

The Couple

The Couple
The Goddess of Death and Destruction is loose on the world and cleansing the impure.  The prophecy of the end of everything is being fulfilled.

An inept hunter must save his love, a sorceress, from the goddess with the help of his companion, a talking mouse. Along the way, they discover the followers of the Goddess, a strange bow, scorched earth, and towns.

A book no one has seen holds all the answers.

Loss, love, friendship, grief, joy, and a mysterious crow round out the final chapter of The Roland Targus Series.
