Let It Go

“Where are we going?"

“Disneyland,” dad answers.

“Really? Yay! Can I see Elsa?”

“You can see anyone you want.”

“And Olaf?”

“Of course,” mom reassures.

“Are we there yet?”

“No. Not yet. Almost there.” The toy in the back seat blares a song the child sings along to in an off-key.

The car pulls into the parking lot and mom takes the screaming child out of the seat. “This isn’t Disneyland! I know this place! It’s the doctor!”, the child wails as the two move toward the entrance.

Dad picks up the toy, looks at it, then smashes it against the concrete. It gurgles, “Let it go.”
