Auteureist™ was originally envisioned to exchange information between itself and a writer's application on the Macintosh known as Scrivener. Scrivener uses a complex file structure, but does provide a useful import mechanism known as MultiMarkdown. That is the format Auteureist™ uses to transfer content to Scrivener.
In order to export data into Scrivener:
- From the Auterureist™ Synchronization & Export Screen, select all the items you want to transfer.
- Tap the MMD button. This will launch the email app on your iPhone and exit Auteureist™.
- Change the email address being sent-to if you have not set it up in the Auteureist™ Settings (Auteureist™ will use the email configured as its default, but you can always override this in the email.
- You can edit the content of the message but DO NOT MODIFY THE SPECIAL EMBEDDED TAGS. That is, be careful in changing only what you wrote originally, and not what Auteureist™ added in order to get the export to work.
- Send your email and retrieve it on your desktop machine.
- On your desktop machine, save your received email as a text document.
- In Scrivener, create a new or open an existing project.
- From Scrivener's File menu, select Import...MultiMarkdown
- Select the email file you saved.
Scrivener should import the document and create a new folder structure which contains your Auteureist™-created novel.
