On-Device Backups
On-Device backup saves a copy of your writing database on the device itself; that is, the data doesn't leave the device and an external connection is not needed. On-device backup is a quick and simple way to make sure your work is protected and you have a copy in case you want to revert to an early version of the database.
On-device backups protect your work in case the app crashes and corrupts your data (this shouldn't happen). On-device backups do NOT protect you in the event of catastrophic device failures or crashes. You should always use off-device backups in conjunction with on-device ones.

On-device restore replaces your current writing database with the one you have in your on-device backup. The restore does need an external connection. NOTE: Your ENTIRE database is restored, not just the item you are currently working on. Make sure you want to restore EVERYTHING.
