Export

The Project Export allows you export parts or all of your projects in different formats and ways.
The Element Export looks identical but allows you to export only the current element.

the Export Screen is organized into a non scrollable header, and a scrollable are broken up into sections. Not all sections are available for for project types.


The non scrollable header:

  • The Done button will dismiss this view and not export anything.
  • The Export button will format the export based on the selections you made in the remainder of the screen, and present a standard iOS dialog from which you can choose a target.
  • The Open In… button is similar to the Export button but you will be presented with a standard iOS dialog from which to choose an application that supports the specified export format. The export will then be opened in that app.
  • The iCloud Drive button will allow you to save your export to your iCloud Drive.
  • The Format List below the three main buttons allows you to select the format in which you wish to format your data.

The choices are:
  • txt - Plain text
  • mmd - MultiMarkdown
  • html - HTML for use on websites and in web browsers.
  • rtf - Rich Text Format
  • epub - Generates an eBook suitable for iOS devices iBooks app and other ePUB compatible programs. The ePub’s cover will be a default image, unless you have selected an image using the project’s editor Cover button. NOTE: The image should have a minimum number of white areas.
  • pdf - PDF file
  • fdx - Final Draft format
  • opml - OPML format suitable for use with outliners.
  • scrivx - Generates a complete Scrivener project file.
  • aeon - Generates an Aeon Timeline file.
NOTE: Selecting certain formats will automatically set and override individual toggle settings, as some settings don't apply. Also, some formats may not be suitable for certain project types and those options will be disabled.

The Options Section:

  • The Compression control allows you to specify how to package your export.
    • Normal will provide the raw export inline.
    • Attach will provide the export as an attachment (in email for example)
    • ZIP will provide the export as a PKZIP file.

  • Master Toggle allows you to quickly override the individual settings by turning them all on or off.
  • Project Export Settings Section:

This section deals with exporting information about the project as a whole.

  • Project Title Page: will export a project page suitable to the project type.
  • Author Information: will export author, agent, and copyright information.
  • Project Settings: will export the project's settings as you defined them in the Project Settings screen.
  • Project Timeline: will export the project timeline as you defined it in the Project Settings screen.
  • Cast Page: will export the cast page if your project type is a script.

Element Export Settings Section:

This sections deals with exporting individual elements. That is, these selections are applied to each element in turn.

  • Export Elements: This is a section toggle that overrides each of the items in this section.
  • Element Title Page: will export a simple element title page.
  • Element Settings: will export the element's settings as you defined them in the Element Settings screen.
  • Element Timeline: will export the element's timeline as you defined it in the Element Settings screen.
  • Text: will export the actual text for the element. This is what you wrote.
  • Sessions: will export statistics on each of your writing sessions for the specific element.

Character Export Settings Section:

This section deals with exporting the characters in your project.

  • Export Characters: will export the character information you defined in the Character Editor screen. This also acts as a master toggle for this section.
  • Export Aliases: will export all of the aliases you have defined for the individual characters.

Location Export Settings Section:

This section deals with exporting the locations in your project. There is only one item.

  • Export Locations: will export the location information for each location you specified in the Location Editor screen.

Research Export Settings Section:

This section deals with exporting your research notes.

  • Export Research: this is a master toggle for the items in this section.
  • Text Notes: will export each of your text notes.
  • Photo Notes: will export each of your photo notes.
  • Web Notes: will export each of your web notes and URLs.
  • Map Notes: will export geolocation notes.
  • Voice Notes: will export each of your voice notes.

Annotation Export Settings Section:

  • Export Annotations: will export your project and element annotations.

Summary Export Settings Section:

This section deals with exporting summary statistics that Auteureist™ captures while you are writing this project. There is one item.

  • Export Summary Statistics: will export project-wide statistics.
