Character Editor

The Character Editor screen allows you to create and manage character information related to a project or element.

From top to bottom, left to right, the items are:

  • The Done button will close this screen and save any changes you have made.
  • The Cancel button will close this screen and discard any change you made since the screen was opened.
  • Name - the character's name.
  • The Create Another button will add the character you have created, clear the entry and allow you to continue adding characters.
  • Previous / Next buttons are arrows that allow you to move to the previous or next character in your project.

The major portion of the editor is a scrollable view with the following items:
  • Name - a Random button that will generate a random name based on the Gender selector that is followed by a text field for the character’s name. NOTE: This Random function only works if you are connected to the internet.
  • Aliases - a button that displays and lets you edit the aliases for this character.

  • Gender selector allows you to pick the significant gender of the character. Changing the gender will affect various other items and selections on this screen.
  • Age - the character's age
  • Archaetype - a picker that allows you to select the character's archetype or model. The provided ones are:
    • Other
    • "Hero - Chief"
    • Hero - Badboy
    • Hero - Best Friend
    • Hero - Charmer
    • Hero - Lost Soul
    • Hero - Professor
    • Hero - Swashbuckler
    • Hero - Warrior
    • Heroine - Boss

  • Role - a picker that allows you specify the character's role in the story. The provided ones are:
    • Protagonist
    • Antagonist
    • Sidekick
    • Mentor
    • Tempter
    • Skeptic
    • Emotional
    • Logical
    • Narrator
    • Unknown
    • Other
  • Style - the character's style and mannerisms
  • Affectation - the character's main mannerism that identifies them.
  • Conflict - the character's personal battle that must be overcome
  • Strength - the character's strong point that allows him to proceed through the story.
  • Weakness - the character's main weak point that he must overcome to succeed or which hinders them.
  • Evolution - how the character must change to succeed and overcome to the end of the story.
  • Photo - this button allows you to select a picture or photo that represents this character. This image will replace the label on the button. Additionally, this photo will appear on the character toolbar popup
  • Description - the physical description of the character.
  • Sketch - a character sketch
  • Backstory - this is this character's history or backstory.
  • Notes - this is an area for freeform notes.
